Promised the Moon

In Promised the Moon, an exhibition curated by Ursula K. Frederick, artists celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Apollo 11, reflecting on the historic event. 

 

In my series of five monotypes I reflect on my memories of witnessing the event on a television set in Sydney in 1969 at the age of 21 and my contemporary observations at Honeysuckle Creek and Tidbinbilla, the source of  the first images beamed around the world in 1969. My work plays with the the fifty year gap in time, moving between the past and present.
